Otto Heinrich Robert Wall
Otto was a name that came out of nowhere but it turns out that Otto was Eva’s great grandfather’s name. Otto Lindig. Also on a strange twist my brother happened to find information on our Norwegian family tree and my grandfather’s father’s brothers were named Johann and Otto. Hmm.
Seymour Sunrise with Ravens
Some snaps of an early morning bushwack on the mountain. Too busy jumping around in the snow and finding sun spots for tea to take a lot of photographs this time round. Ravens are my favourite bird so we were very happy to have these two following us around.

Unknown Photographer, Sun and Games, Norman and Lynda in their Holiday Hideaway, 25 September 1980
Photograph: Courtesy of Michael Hoppen Gallery
The press caption on the back reads: ‘Car salesman Norman Webster was browned off because he couldn’t afford a holiday in the sun. So … he told his pals he was taking his girlfriend Lynda on a two-week trip to a Spanish sunspot. Instead, the couple locked themselves in their flat in Walton, Liverpool, with two sun lamps and a fortnight’s supply of food … They were spotted by a friend when they sneaked out for a drink one night … Lynda, a telephonist, said: “It was a fantastic holiday while it lasted. There was no travelling to do, no greasy foreign food to cope with and we had guaranteed sun.”’
Kites and Oregon
Stopped in at an agency in Seattle on the way to Oregon in September and one of the creatives ran home and got this kite for me as a present. I can’t wait to fly a kite again in the sun. Like everyone in Vancouver !

Fishing on the Vedder River

Made a very early morning trip all the way to the Vedder River to go salmon fishing with a giant German friend of mine. Snow powdered mountains, river mist, sun, fall leaves and lots of fish at the end of a winding country road.
The Lund Book Club
I am just back from a relaxing and amazingly sun drenched vacation up on a friends property near Desolation Sound. The whole property is covered in all kinds of mosses. We spent a lot of time lying about in soft, sunny spots. It’s October and this is a rain forest so it might have been the last hurrah of the year. Certainly the last ocean swim until some kind of polar bear dip in January. The ocean at this time is actually perfect for polar bears already.
