The press caption on the back reads: ‘Car salesman Norman Webster was browned off because he couldn’t afford a holiday in the sun. So … he told his pals he was taking his girlfriend Lynda on a two-week trip to a Spanish sunspot. Instead, the couple locked themselves in their flat in Walton, Liverpool, with two sun lamps and a fortnight’s supply of food … They were spotted by a friend when they sneaked out for a drink one night … Lynda, a telephonist, said: “It was a fantastic holiday while it lasted. There was no travelling to do, no greasy foreign food to cope with and we had guaranteed sun.”’

Soccer in the snow!
A sudden blizzard came into town and all the games were cancelled but we somehow managed to drive through the treacherous snow laden roads and get out onto the pitch for a game! The Fish are always the first to go for it. Just do it !
Berlin
I was waiting for the train in Berlin one evening and this woman was carefully touching up her makeup in the mirror.

We were looking after a pair of Runner Ducks that are used to control the slug population in the summer. They are interesting ducks. They don’t fly or anything. They stand tall like Penguins and roam around together. The whole property was full of duck trails. We had to put out warm water so they could bath in the morning and clean their feathers so they wouldn’t freeze. At dusk they would head to their house and we would close the door to protect them during the night from the foxes and weasels.

Great weekend !
The Cheaper Show was a huge success. Thousands of people came through, all my work sold, great atmosphere. Cherry Vega took some photos and I saw one with two of my prints and someone looking at them! My soccer team won 6-2. Germany won their game as well !

There’s a post about the show here on the Karacters blog. I missed Jack Black.

I love film because when its stretched to extremes you get these worn looking strange coloured images that have so much grain that your teacher would say ‘ oh my god johann totally wrong exposure.’ but I think it’s totally the right exposure sometimes!!
I enjoyed checking this site out..
I lived fairly close to Liverpool Street station and Old Street in London so brings back some good memories as well.
