We are still in the ocean in Vancouver!
Summer’s lingering long enough to do a last swimwear shoot right here in town. The thing that’s great about photography is that you get to do all kinds of things with all kinds of people. Like being out on the beach at the end of the day on Wednesday as the sun sinks into the ocean behind the trees.

Suit and bottoms designed right here in Vancouver by cuchebikinis.
The Whitecaps and Johann
I thought I was the same size as them.

Mountain Mike from a story on the mysterious feet washing up around Vancouver.
Women’s Olympic Soccer
Last summer the Women’s World Cup had me fixed to the television cheering like crazy and this year at the Olympics it was the same. Although I have to say I think I spent all the energy I had during the Canada vs USA game. What a game!!! I spent some time with the women’s Whitecaps squad this summer and thought I’d post a few pictures of the future Team Canada ! The short and the tall.

Aww. I found this shot from Bremen in the winter.
OSB 2012
We shot a few things for summer this season to keep the delicious beer in mind while you’re out having holidays and weekends on the lake..

Archive Thursday!
Archive Thursday!
I was going through some old pictures today and a delightful journey it was. I look at a photograph of the Cinch ( a sore spot sometimes because Nylon Magazine lost the film!!! ) and I am right back in the late afternoon sun with all of them going down to the water and asking them to wade in because the light falling on the deep blue Pacific incoming tide was extraordinary and I could see how I would have a full contact sheet of images that would later give me the shivers to look at. Anyways, I love my photographs and sometimes they never get seen and it’s a real shame. So on Thursday I think I might start posting some from the vaults. At least I will be able to see them again. They will probably be random. Not that they are all that old either just been tucked away to make room for new things. Without further ado .. tad a!

Haggatha go to the beach….
Doing the album art with Haggatha yesterday which involved forests, beaches, snowy mountains and rivers. Vancouver, what a place. We can go from a nude beach to deep snow in an hour.
The top photo was just before going into the woods. While we were on the trail a foreign university student stopped to ask me where the trail went. After our exchange he paused and asked one more thing. ” Is it dangerous ? “
More from the Mountain!

Another shot I love from the shoot on Mt Washington. So many nice ones. It’s so refreshing to be able to create so much in such a small amount of time. All I can think of right now is where can I find some more people to do more for personal portfolios! I gotta run, the sun it out!!
Mountain time!
Where do kids want to go tobogganing ?

Great shoot at Mt Washington! 4 days of awesome people and snow and sun! These are the stars up to no good.
(They are actually on the right side of the sign though)

Year of the Dragon !
I love having this small chalkboard patch in the kitchen… you never know what’s going to turn up on it after people have been round.
Sarah Burke
I just heard Sarah was injured in Salt Lake City. I met her on a photo shoot and spent the day with her around her home. Get well soon Sarah!!
Just read that Sarah has passed on. Although I only knew her from the shoot and a few emails afterwards I was deeply saddened. Clearly she was an amazing person to many people and contributed a lot of positive energy to the world around her. I saw some of that last winter in Squamish.
Here are a few extra photographs from that day. Rip it up in heaven Sarah!
Drums!
I go through periods of taking many photographs and then in between I have a chance to look through all the photographs more carefully and find some of the ones that got left out or missed in the original edits. This is one from the Willowz west coast tour. Alex on drums!
