Seymour Sunrise with Ravens
Some snaps of an early morning bushwack on the mountain. Too busy jumping around in the snow and finding sun spots for tea to take a lot of photographs this time round. Ravens are my favourite bird so we were very happy to have these two following us around.
Fishing on the Vedder River

Made a very early morning trip all the way to the Vedder River to go salmon fishing with a giant German friend of mine. Snow powdered mountains, river mist, sun, fall leaves and lots of fish at the end of a winding country road.
The Lund Book Club
I am just back from a relaxing and amazingly sun drenched vacation up on a friends property near Desolation Sound. The whole property is covered in all kinds of mosses. We spent a lot of time lying about in soft, sunny spots. It’s October and this is a rain forest so it might have been the last hurrah of the year. Certainly the last ocean swim until some kind of polar bear dip in January. The ocean at this time is actually perfect for polar bears already.

Archive Thursday!
Archive Thursday!
I was going through some old pictures today and a delightful journey it was. I look at a photograph of the Cinch ( a sore spot sometimes because Nylon Magazine lost the film!!! ) and I am right back in the late afternoon sun with all of them going down to the water and asking them to wade in because the light falling on the deep blue Pacific incoming tide was extraordinary and I could see how I would have a full contact sheet of images that would later give me the shivers to look at. Anyways, I love my photographs and sometimes they never get seen and it’s a real shame. So on Thursday I think I might start posting some from the vaults. At least I will be able to see them again. They will probably be random. Not that they are all that old either just been tucked away to make room for new things. Without further ado .. tad a!

Haggatha go to the beach….
Doing the album art with Haggatha yesterday which involved forests, beaches, snowy mountains and rivers. Vancouver, what a place. We can go from a nude beach to deep snow in an hour.
The top photo was just before going into the woods. While we were on the trail a foreign university student stopped to ask me where the trail went. After our exchange he paused and asked one more thing. ” Is it dangerous ? “
More from the Mountain!

Another shot I love from the shoot on Mt Washington. So many nice ones. It’s so refreshing to be able to create so much in such a small amount of time. All I can think of right now is where can I find some more people to do more for personal portfolios! I gotta run, the sun it out!!
Mountain time!
Where do kids want to go tobogganing ?

Great shoot at Mt Washington! 4 days of awesome people and snow and sun! These are the stars up to no good.
(They are actually on the right side of the sign though)
Winter Training
Our team trains in the winter late when the cold fog comes off the lake and there is no one around. I love the light and the isolated moments.

I absolutely love these shots!

Wreck Beach
Last amazing hot weekend in Vancouver at our most infamous beach. I had wanted to photograph Elissa sometime after seeing her on the street the day before and it turned out we were all going to the beach on the same day. The water was so warm we were diving into the surf for an hour.
Hardly Magazine
I already posted a few shots but here’s the actual layout and links.
These are some photos and interviews I did for a feature on young female surfers in Tofino. I had to go up and find the subjects – guy looking for young female surfers to photograph, classic. Send Johann! All the girls I met had interesting stories and were very friendly. Unfortunately I could only stay there for the two days this time as I was on a roll and everyone was starting to recognize me and getting used to calling me up for sessions and tacos.
I’m going back for more though.
And I just spent the weekend at Sombrio in the water, so I’ll be a bit more wave ready now too.
Thanks to the Surf Sisters!! Go there if you want to get some great lessons with some awesome girls.

Vancouver Summer Tableaus
Been working on some leisure landscapes now that the weather has come round. I was waiting for enough sunny days to heat up the city so people would start swimming in the ocean, lakes and rivers. Hope it lasts because I have a long list of places I want to get to this summer.
Summer where art thou – snapshots from last summer

I took all these shots in Germany on an old Nikon camera I repaired. I bought it in Liverpool and it had been sitting on my shelf for a while now. I just wanted to take a pictures here and there and not know how they turned out until later.
Berlin
I was waiting for the train in Berlin one evening and this woman was carefully touching up her makeup in the mirror.
